Paint protection film
Film absorbs stone strikes and road grit. It will not stop every chip: a high-energy impact at highway speed can still mark the panel beneath, and film laid over an existing chip or scratch will not hide it. Coverage is panel by panel as written in the quote, never full-body by default. Edges are wrapped where the geometry allows, which is not every bumper curve or mirror cap.
Ceramic coating
A coating is a sacrificial layer, not armour. It adds gloss and makes washing easier, and it does not prevent swirl marks from a poor wash, water spotting in hard water, or etching from bird droppings left in the sun. Coating thickness is measured in microns, so a deep scratch passes straight through it to the clear coat. Durability claims assume the stated wash routine and the annual inspection.
Paint correction
Correction removes material, permanently. The studio reads a 24-point paint depth grid before polishing and stops at the depth agreed in writing. Scratches that reach primer or bare metal cannot be polished out; they can be reduced and, where it suits the finish, touched in. Repainted panels, single-stage paint and some older finishes carry thinner margins, so they may be corrected to a lesser standard, or declined.
